Affidavit, 1808 March 26.

Certifies that Mitchel, of Hanover County, Va., has brought in a slave, Joseph, who says he belongs to Francis Jordan [sic] [Jerdone] of Louisa [County, Va.]. States that it is twenty-five miles from the place where Joseph was apprehended to Jerdone's residence and sets amount owed to Mitchel for Joseph's capture and return. Signed by Henry Robinson, Justice of the Peace for Hanover County.
